Health Canada recalls several car seats! For sale in Temu!

It is learned that according to foreign media reports, the Canadian Ministry of Health recently announced the recall of several child car safety seats sold on the Temu.com website because these seats were not certified by the Canadian Ministry of Transport safety regulations.

The recalled products are TONGXINLE universal two-way car safety seats for children and infants, Reyi portable child car safety seats, and Jibaobao car seats.

According to a notice issued on Monday, the recalled Jibaobao car seats are black and model number is kbh308. Health Canada stressed that the recalled products are made in China, do not display the national safety mark of Transport Canada, may not be certified, and do not meet the safety requirements of the Motor Vehicle Restraint Systems and Booster Seats Safety Regulations.

Health Canada warns against using these car seats because of the potential increased risk of injury in the event of a crash.

The recalled Reyi portable child car safety seats are suitable for infants aged 1 to 12. The recalled TONGXINLE universal two-way child and infant car safety seats are light blue in color, and the SKUs include: 6645678391, 7067666542, and 8529972244.

Temu.com sold nine Jibaobao car seats and five TONGXINLE universal child and infant car seats in Canada between March and April 2023. Between March and May 2023, the site sold a total of 14 Reyi child seats.

As of June 15, there have been no reports of accidents or injuries related to the recalled products, according to the notice.

Health Canada is urging consumers to stop using the recalled products "immediately" because they are illegal under provincial and territorial highway codes. In addition, the agency recommends that purchasers dispose of the products to prevent future use and contact the company for a refund.
