An average of 150,000 orders are processed every day! Walmart's large distribution center in South Surrey is put into use!

It is learned that according to foreign media reports, Walmart recently announced that the large distribution center it opened in South Surrey, Canada has officially been put into use.

The distribution center is reportedly 300,000 square feet in total and can handle 150,000 online orders a day. Walmart invested $175 million in building the distribution center.

It is reported that orders processed through the South Surrey distribution center will be delivered on time to 45 Walmart stores in British Columbia, and the delivery time of goods will be greatly shortened.

It is reported that the distribution center aims at sustainability and zero waste emissions. It is equipped with energy-saving LED lighting and intelligent control switches, which can reduce energy consumption by 70%; and has an efficient refrigeration system and HVAC system, which can recycle exhaust heat to heat and dehumidify the facility, as well as protect local waterways and natural filtration systems.

It is worth noting that Walmart will also deploy an electric delivery fleet at the South Surrey distribution center, including electric semi-trailers and all-electric yard trucks, to significantly reduce carbon emissions.

It is learned that the distribution center is the largest logistics infrastructure west of Calgary (the fourth largest city in Canada), with the most advanced sorting technology, and is also one of the most technologically advanced distribution centers in the world.

Walmart's Chief Executive Vice President John Bayliss said he was pleased that the distribution center in South Surrey was successfully opened. This is part of Walmart's $3.5 billion investment in logistics and technology. Walmart will continue to drive the flow of products in the supply chain across Canada to achieve revenue growth.
