It is learned that according to foreign media reports, Instagram recently released the 2022 beauty and fashion trends. The report is based on survey data of 1,200 weekly social media users in the United States between the ages of 13 and 24.

According to the report, Gen Z is redefining the way this generation is educated and the idea of ​​a "career," introducing new concepts like minimalist fashion statements.

In terms of fashion, Instagram predicts that minimalist fashion will dominate. The report says alternative styles such as Dark Academia, Goth, and Goblincore (an aesthetic that appreciates the ugly side of nature) are becoming mainstream styles, and 50% of teenagers and young adults are expected to try bolder looks.

Additionally, the study predicts that a quarter of young people will become more frugal and increase their online shopping on second-hand sites such as Depop and Poshmark.

On the other hand, beauty is moving towards minimalism. According to the report, about one-third of young people are interested in learning about and purchasing organic skin care and makeup products, pursuing the use of minimal products and safer ingredients.

The study also reports on Gen Z’s focus on wellness, predicting that a third of this group will increase their interest in activities such as guided meditation and performance exercises. Additionally, half of young adults will increasingly lean toward interest in and trust in influencers, aligning them with smaller and more loyal audiences.
