With the end of 2024, a new round of consumer law review has begun ! Although for most sellers, this is just a routine operation every year, some sellers have encountered difficulties in this link recently.

This time is different from the past. Many seller friends’ stores were suddenly deactivated even though they had passed the Consumer Act. The emails they received showed that the seller’s identity could not be verified, which was similar to the emails received when the qualifications review was rejected.

After verification, it was confirmed that this was because the consumer bill had not yet been passed and further submission of information was required!


Some sellers directly received email notifications of account closure after submitting their business licenses, legal identity information, and bank statements, without giving any specific reasons.


Will the review standards of the Consumer Act become stricter?


According to the sellers' speculation, this situation may be that Amazon has fine-tuned the review standards of the Consumer Act. Certain information or verification methods that were previously able to pass the review may no longer meet the requirements according to the new standards.

In addition to some sellers who are currently operating and need to resubmit their information, some stores that have been deregistered have also received scrutiny under the Consumer Act.


According to feedback from sellers, these accounts have already passed the consumer law, but now they encounter this problem again, which has stumped most people and they don’t know what to do.



And this is not an isolated case. Amazon seems to have recently begun a large-scale review of deregistered corporate accounts, so those who have purchased old stores should start to be vigilant.

In response to this issue, some sellers have already provided operational reminders and reference methods for opening new submission entrances.

Once you click on the business information edit option, it is very likely that the Consumer Law review process will be re-triggered.


At present, some stores have been suspended due to identity verification failure. In this case, it is recommended not to proceed with the tax information verification process for the time being. When conducting identity verification, you need to pay attention to the bank statement address information submitted by the primary contact. Make sure that the address is exactly the same as the residential address filled in on the review page. If there is any inconsistency, the identity verification will fail.



How to open the complaint entrance?


1. Connect to the protection plan : In the upper right corner of the account status page, connect to the protection plan, ask the team to assist in feedback, and request a submission entry.


2. Open an email case to submit an invoice : Submit a new invoice by opening an email case and request that it be transferred to the seller’s identity verification team.


3. Check emails and reply : Check all emails carefully, including spam, to confirm whether you have received any emails notifying you of failure to pass the review or account deactivation. Such emails usually carry a case ID, which you can use to search in the issue log, reply in the corresponding case, and submit new billing information.


4. Edit and submit directly : Edit directly in "Business Information - Company Name" and then submit again.

During the upload process, make sure the file is uploaded normally and is legible.


Finally, pay close attention to notifications and emails from the Amazon platform. If you encounter problems or need additional information, you should process and submit them as soon as possible to avoid missing the deadline for appeal or additional information.
