Shipping restrictions are fully lifted! Great news for Amazon sellers

Recently, some sellers were surprised to find that Amazon Japan has officially lifted the shipping restrictions! Now sellers can create the shipping quantity of shipments at will!

More than half a year has passed since the warehouse was idle since July last year. The Japanese site, where the epidemic is relatively less serious, was the first to resume normal shipping and replenishment. This is really great news!

In July, the United States first announced new warehousing restrictions, and Japan and Europe followed suit by announcing the implementation of warehousing and shipping quantity restrictions. Not only did it limit the upper limit of available inventory for sellers with IPI performance below 500 points, it also limited the quantity that sellers could replenish when creating a shipping plan. Most ASINs can only ship one or two hundred or even dozens of inventory.

At the same time, in order to prevent any fish from slipping through the net, all the backup shipping plans created in advance by most sellers were cancelled.

Although Amazon later gradually opened up some replenishment permissions, released a few hundred pieces for replenishment, and lowered the IPI performance threshold for warehouse restrictions, many of these were just a drop in the bucket.

The official announcement of the Japanese site to cancel the shipping restrictions is based on the fact that the epidemic situation in Japan has stabilized, with the current number of confirmed cases being just over 30,000. The number of new cases reached a low point in early March, with only a few hundred confirmed cases each day. Although it has rebounded recently, it is generally much better than Europe and the United States. It is reasonable for the Japanese site to resume normal shipping.

So when will European and American countries officially lift shipping restrictions?

Shipping restrictions on European and American sites

The biggest news about shipping restrictions on European and American sites since the beginning of the year is that there has been a surge in the number of new products that can be shipped. Originally, each ASIN could ship around 200 pieces, but it has directly increased to 750 or even 1,000 pieces!

This is only for new products. Some old products with good sales are still subject to restrictions and cannot ship too much inventory. The number of people vaccinated in the United States has exceeded 100 million, and more than half of the residents have been fully vaccinated. It won’t be long before herd immunity (80% to 90% vaccination rate) is approaching. From this point of view, the US site is not far from completely lifting the shipping restrictions!

However, Amazon now also has to consider the shipping capacity for the upcoming Prime Day, so it will not easily open the shipping restrictions on the US site before Member Day. Some techniques to break through the restrictions should still be used. For example, the official logistics AGL has previously held an event that can help sellers apply to the FBA team for expanded restrictions. However, there are quota restrictions and there is no guarantee that the application can be approved . The number of shipments that can be broken must also be determined after review by the FBA team, and will refer to the seller's sales volume, IPI score, etc.

In fact, the seller’s inventory and delivery restrictions will change at regular intervals based on the above indicators, so I guess this service is just a greeting between the AGL team and the FBA team to help sellers evaluate the indicators in advance, but the specific amount is still determined by the FBA team.
