Newegg updates the return policy for this category! Will accept returns after opening

It is learned that recently, Newegg was accused by platform buyers of selling defective computer motherboards and shifting the responsibility to buyers, refusing to return the products without opening them. After the incident was exposed, Newegg immediately responded and updated the return policy for this category.

According to reports, the buyer bought a Z490 computer motherboard on Newegg, but found that he didn't need it after the product arrived, so he returned the product unopened. However, after returning the product to Newegg, the platform rejected the buyer's return application on the grounds that the product was damaged.

The buyer, who owns the popular technology platform Gamers Nexus and has more than 1.58 million followers on his YouTube channel, posted his experience online through videos and articles, which attracted the attention of many users.

Gamers Nexus managed to track down the RMA (Return Material Authorization) number on the product he purchased from Newegg and contacted the repair company that issued the RMA to request a report record of the RMA. The report confirmed the issue of the socket connector failure and Newegg's repair cost $100.

But Newegg refused to repair it, and the product was put back on sale without further intervention.

Newegg has responded by updating its return policy, the company posted a statement on its Twitter page.

A Newegg spokesperson added that they have instituted a new return policy for all opened motherboards and CPUs. When asked about the specifics of these policies, Newegg confirmed that they will accept returns on all opened products unconditionally.

But despite this, this incident has caused irreparable damage to Newegg's market reputation.
