BigCommerce and Feedonomics team up to enhance omnichannel sales capabilities

It is learned that the US SaaS e-commerce platform BigCommerce recently acquired the e-commerce data optimization platform Feedonomics for US$145 million. The acquisition was through an asset purchase transaction. BigCommerce paid approximately US$80 million at the end of the transaction.

Feedonomics is a platform that optimizes product data for e-commerce companies, including Amazon, Walmart, and Target. With Feedonomics, BigCommerce merchants can maximize their omnichannel sales and return on advertising spend (ROAS) by connecting, converting, and enhancing product data from hundreds of channels around the world. It is reported that the company was selected by Inc. magazine as one of the top 100 companies in the 2019 Inc. 5000 list in 2019.

BigCommerce CEO Brent Bellm said that by the end of 2024, U.S. e-commerce channel advertising spending is expected to exceed $41 billion, accounting for nearly 15% of all digital advertising spending. This acquisition will greatly enhance the omnichannel sales capabilities of the BigCommerce platform.

As part of the acquisition, Feedonomics will simplify BigCommerce merchants’ integration with more than 100 online marketplaces and advertising channels, including Google, Facebook, Microsoft Advertising, Amazon, and Walmart, thereby improving their return on search and advertising spending and achieving higher website traffic and revenue.
