Platform Introduction

Pomelo, a Thai fashion e-commerce company. Pomelo is committed to building an online retail brand for Southeast Asian customers. Its core markets include Thailand, Singapore and Indonesia, but Pomelo said that the company has customers in 44 countries.

Pomelo's advantage is that the company has its own designer resources and cooperates with manufacturers to eliminate the middleman link. It also uses an automated supply chain to analyze inventory, reduce costs, and provide customers with more favorable prices.

Development History

In September 2019, Thai fashion brand Pomelo completed a US$52 million Series C financing round, jointly invested by investors including Thai comprehensive group Central Group, US fund Lombard Investments, Hong Kong fund Provident Growth Fund and Korean fund InterVest Star SEA Growth Fund.

Pomelo opened its first offline store in 2018, aiming to provide consumers with a more complete brand experience and then attract them to shop online.

In 2017, Thai e-commerce Pomelo raised US$19 million

This round of financing is the company's Series B financing and also the largest financing to date. JD.com and Indonesia's Provident Capital Partners led the investment, and PE company Lombard Investments participated in the investment.

In October 2016, Pomelo announced the completion of a US$11 million Series A financing round led by Jungle Ventures, with participation from 500 Tuk Tuks, 500 Startups, Jonathan Price and Andre Hoffmann. The company plans to use this round of financing to further expand its platform business and continue to expand into the Southeast Asian market.

Founded in 2013, Pomelo is headquartered in Bangkok, with additional offices in Jakarta, Singapore and South Korea.
