Recently, Amazon launched a logistics clearance program, which allows sellers to recover value from redundant inventory and buyer-returned inventory, avoid storage fees, and prevent inventory from being abandoned or returned. Target audience: Currently only invited sellers Effective date: October 30 , 2020. Here’s what you need to know about Amazon’s clearance program.
The maximum recovery value is approximately 20% of the average ASIN selling price. The platform does not guarantee the amount that can actually be recovered through the Amazon Logistics Clearance Service. Amazon will first determine the value of your inventory by evaluating several factors: The seller’s sales history; The average logistics sales price on Amazon; The sales history of that specific ASIN. Pursuant to the Contracted Rates, the Third Party Liquidator will purchase this inventory at the Total Recovery Value, which may vary depending on the Contracted Rates with the Liquidator.
Amazon will try to find buyers for eligible items submitted by sellers for clearance within 30 days of submission. If successful, Amazon will transfer the amount paid by the buyer for these items (minus fees) to the seller's account. The net recovery value will appear in the seller’s account approximately 60 days after the shipment is marked as Completed on the Removal Order Details page in Seller Central. Amazon will waive program fees for all orders placed before March 31 , 2021. Beginning April 1, 2021 , Amazon will deduct fees for each clearance order. Starting April 1 , Amazon will charge two separate fees for each item that sellers liquidate: 1. A charge based on size and weight for each item (UK / EU: Table 1 ); 2. A sales commission of 14% of the total recycling value. After you submit eligible inventory in a clearance order, Amazon will no longer charge monthly storage fees and long-term storage fees for that inventory. Amazon Logistics prohibited products; Expiration-dated FBA inventory that has exceeded its expiration date; Easy-to-follow Amazon logistics inventory; Dangerous goods; Categories and products that require approval and other restricted products that are prohibited from sale; Selling stock priced below £7.00/€ 7.00 (1) Create a clearance order from the Seller Central Use any of the following pages to identify inventory for FBA liquidation. Managing excess inventory; Fix Amazon inventory with no sales information; Storage age; Recommended removal; Manage all inventory; Amazon Inventory On most pages, sellers can select one or more ASINs and then select Create Removal Order from the list of actions. For a Recommended Removal Report, click Start Removal process. (2) On the Create Removal Order page, under Removal Method, select Liquidation. (3) Select the amount of [Sellable Quantity] or [Unsellable Quantity] to be liquidated. When ready, click [Continue]. (4) After reviewing the order, click [Place] to complete the clearance request. Sellers with inventory pressure can try the clearance plan, which may be useful. |
