Shopify Black Friday GMV hits record! Strong performance in multiple categories

It is learned that with the end of the Black Friday promotion, Shopify announced its record-breaking Black Friday performance. Data shows that Shopify's global sales on Black Friday reached US$3.36 billion, an increase of 17% over Black Friday in 2021.


At 12:01 p.m. Eastern Time on Black Friday, Shopify's sales reached $3.5 million per minute. Shopify CEO posted a post on Twitter to celebrate the end of Black Friday, saying that Black Friday is still one of the biggest shopping events of the year, and the platform merchants once again showed amazing sales strength.

 

As of now, the heat of Shopify's Black Friday promotion has not yet ended, and customer traffic, sales and order volumes are still growing.

 

 

Shopify Black Friday 2022 Global Highlights:

 

Peak sales per minute: 12:01 p.m. ET on Black Friday, $3.5 million

Countries and cities where shoppers made the most purchases: The United States, United Kingdom and Canada, with top-selling cities on Black Friday including London, New York and Los Angeles.

Most popular product categories: Apparel and accessories, followed by health and beauty, and home and garden, with trending products including Snocks GmbH (boxer shorts), rhode (peptide glaze liquid) and Brooklinen (luxury core sheet sets)**.

Average cart value: $102.31, or $105.10 at constant exchange rate

Percentage of global cross-border orders on Black Friday: 15%

27%: Global Shopify sellers saw a 27% increase in POS sales compared to last year’s Black Friday.
