The category with the highest sales volume was home furnishings, with 1.6 million transactions.

An online survey of 1,511 Canadians conducted by the Angus Reid Forum on behalf of The Canadian Press between November 30 and December 1 found that 23% of Canadians said they spent three times more than they had originally planned on online shopping during Black Friday and Cyber ​​Monday (an average of more than $250).

A previous survey by the Retail Council of Canada (RCC) showed that the average online shopping expenditure of Canadians on Black Friday and Cyber ​​Monday was $385, up from $693 in 2020. Statistics from Angus Reid show that the average online shopping expenditure of Canadians on Black Friday and Cyber ​​Monday was $385.

Saskatchewan and Manitoba spent an average of $266, nearly a third less than the national average. Alberta shoppers were most likely to overspend, with a third of residents reporting overspending. Nearly 15% of Alberta buyers reported spending more than $500.

It is learned that one-third of young people aged 18-34 spend more than their budget, which is more than twice the rate of people over 55. Equifax said that Canadians' credit card spending during the holiday shopping season will increase by an average of $814 compared to normal days, the highest level in three years.
