Eduardo Contreras, president of the Mexico City Chamber of Commerce, said that due to the uncertainty of the return to school period, Mexican families are buying fewer back-to-school products. In addition, sales of products are expected to decrease by the end of 2021, reaching 8 billion pesos.

Eduardo Contreras further stated that since the outbreak of the epidemic, sales of back-to-school products have not been high, and related companies have not had significant income. In this year's back-to-school season, many people will not even buy goods that will be used this semester. Due to the resurgence of the epidemic, students will not return to school on a large scale, and the prices of back-to-school products will not be too high.

It is learned that Eduardo Contreras called on consumers to buy school supplies, school uniforms, school bags and other back-to-school supplies from local Mexican companies and stationery stores. Mexico will support local small entrepreneurs and encourage consumers to buy back-to-school products from local retailers and reduce shopping on cross-border platforms.
