It is learned that according to eMarketer's forecast, US influencer marketing spending will increase by 33.6% in 2021 to US$3.69 billion, nearly US$1 billion more than in 2020, setting a record high for the industry since 2019.
eMarketer expects this growth rate to remain in the double digits until 2023, when spending will approach $5 billion. (This forecast does not include spending on influencer paid media campaigns.)
The study found that Instagram is the leading platform in the industry, accounting for about half of the market. In addition, YouTube and Facebook devote a large part of the spending to influencer marketing campaigns. TikTok only accounts for a small part, but it is still growing.
The report also shows that nearly two-thirds of US marketers worked with influencers last year, up from 55.4% in 2019. But with the outbreak of the epidemic, especially in early 2020, many were forced to suspend or reduce cooperation with influencers, slowing spending growth.
