Amazon is making another big move? A review deletion storm is imminent

Recently, many sellers have reported in our group that Amazon has lost a lot of their reviews, and this wave of review deletion is getting more and more serious.

▲A large number of sellers in our communication group reported that their reviews were removed

Although deleting reviews on Amazon is an ongoing process, suspicious reviews are always deleted, especially during major promotional holidays. The last large-scale wave of review deletions was around Prime Day this year.

Review deletion incident before and after Primeday

At that time, Amazon targeted a large number of suspicious buyer accounts and even required sellers whose stores were closed to hand over information from third-party evaluation companies in order to resume sales in their stores.

If a whole batch of buyer accounts are caught, Amazon may delete the reviews of the products and stores involved in these accounts. This chain reaction before and after Primeday caused a large number of contaminated reviews of sellers to be deleted.

Now is the important promotion period of Amazon in the middle of the year - the back-to-school season. So this wave of review deletions is also due to Amazon's practice of cleaning up fake reviews during the big promotion.

Where can I avoid having my comments deleted?

Although Amazon has never announced the criteria for determining fake reviews, countless sellers are keen to explore this standard. After experiencing many review deletion actions, sellers have also gotten some clues about the review deletion criteria, which I would like to share with you here.

1. Violation of comment rules.

Regardless of whether it is a review or not, if a review violates Amazon's review rules, it will be easily deleted, such as discrimination, extortion, etc., but these two situations are rare.

Sellers who review products need to pay more attention to a very easy-to-overlook violation in review content: "Review content cannot include comparisons of product pricing or provide alternative purchase options."

For example, " This is $5 cheaper than the same product I bought offline ." Since we write many of the reviews ourselves, please note that if content like the above appears, it may be deleted for violation.

In addition, if the seller returns/refunds the buyer after the buyer leaves a review (regardless of whether the buyer has been contacted or not), if Amazon finds out, it will be considered a violation and the review will be deleted.

2. Problems with the evaluation account.

Fake orders have existed for as long as Amazon has existed. Now Amazon is gradually strengthening its ability to identify buyers who engage in fake orders. More and more buyer accounts have been added to Amazon's internal blacklist.

There are a lot of black accounts in the US site now, and sellers can easily fall into the trap if they are not careful. Of course, these buyers' accounts suspected of fake orders may not be deleted as soon as they are posted, and they may also be deleted in large numbers during the unified rectification before the big promotion festival.

For example, the deletion of reviews this time is because Amazon has accumulated a group of suspicious buyer accounts and will settle the accounts with them later.

What makes a buyer’s account suspicious? In fact, Amazon has been updating its crawling algorithm, especially recently it has become more stringent , capturing not only the account login IP and purchase history, but also the hardware identification code of the login machine.

As long as this information is found to be associated with an account suspected of fake orders, or multiple accounts use the same set of codes, Amazon will determine it as a suspicious account.

3. Master the frequency of reviews.

The content does not violate the regulations and the account is safe. Another factor that affects the security of reviews is the frequency of reviews.

Do not give five-star reviews continuously, do not give reviews too frequently (depending on the order volume, no more than 3 reviews a week for new products), do not give reviews immediately after purchase, the number of reviews should be proportional to the order volume, etc. These are all important things to note.

If a normal buyer account violates the above rules, it will most likely be put into the suspicious list by Amazon. This is a lesson that sellers have learned with real money.

Of course, the safest way is to have fewer fake orders. In the early stage of the product, you only need to have a few reviews as a guarantee, and then use methods such as requesting reviews to increase natural reviews. The products created in this way are very resistant and can almost avoid most of Amazon's review deletion actions.

Finally, I have prepared a summary of the principles of manual direct review for everyone. Please scan the QR code and get it from me~
