Temu's exclusive magnet toys recalled for violating federal regulations

It is learned that the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recently announced the recall of magnetic chess game sets sold by Outad Good Life in Temu because the strength of the magnets is too strong and there is a high safety risk.

It is understood that the recalled product is a chess puzzle game set containing 20 magnets, the packaging box is blue, and the words "Magnetism Intelligence Strategy Game" are printed on the front of the box . The set includes about 20 round magnets, a rope, a sponge-lined plastic storage tray and game instructions.

The CPSC said the product violated federal regulations on toy magnets. Because the strength of the magnets exceeded the prescribed limit, if swallowed, they would attract metal objects, causing intestinal perforation, blockage, infection, blood poisoning or death. From December 2023 to February 2024, about 2,600 units of the product were sold at Temu for about $8. No accident reports have been received for this product.

The CPSC said consumers should immediately stop using the recalled products and keep them away from children. Consumers can visit their Temu account to find the relevant order and follow the instructions to get a return shipping label to ship the product back free of charge. Outad Good Life is notifying all known purchasers.
