The data shows that after seasonal adjustment, U.S. e-commerce sales in the fourth quarter reached US$285.2 billion, a month-on-month increase of 0.8%. Compared with previous quarters, the growth rate of U.S. e-commerce has slowed down significantly.
In the fourth quarter of 2023, total retail sales in the United States were approximately $1.8314 trillion, a month-on-month increase of 0.4%. In the fourth quarter, e-commerce accounted for 15.6% of total retail sales in the United States, slightly higher than 15.5% in the previous quarter. Additionally, U.S. e-commerce sales increased 7.5% in the fourth quarter of 2023 compared to the fourth quarter of 2022. During the same period, total U.S. retail sales increased 2.8% year-over-year.
