Prepare for the October sales peak season! Walmart waives peak storage fees for sellers!

Walmart announced plans to open the Chilean market and expand its delivery service to cover large, bulky and multi-box items. Walmart said it is expanding its local pickup and delivery services for physical sellers. In addition, Walmart's delivery service will waive peak storage fees for sellers that arrive at the distribution center before October 1.

Walmart said the goal of the delivery improvements is to reduce costs for sellers and make shopping more convenient for customers. The retailer noted that sellers see an average 50% increase in gross merchandise value when selling items through Walmart's delivery service.

Walmart aims to grow its third-party marketplace at inaugural Seller Summit: “Today’s summit is a great milestone for us and our seller community. Walmart can bring third-party sellers to new markets, open up new business opportunities, and sell new products.”

Walmart has been rolling out more services for sellers on its platform, such as the launch of the Inventory Transfer Service tool, which helps sellers improve inventory availability, save costs by shipping products to centralized locations, and provide faster delivery times by improving delivery ranges (next-day delivery, two-day delivery).

Walmart has also introduced ways for sellers to reach specific customer groups. This summer, Walmart launched an e-commerce site specifically for business sellers called Walmart Business. Last year, the company launched a refurbishment program called Walmart Restored to help sellers offer refurbished products to consumers.
