Etsy launches package QR code scanning function to simplify the shipping process for UK sellers!

According to foreign media reports, Etsy, the largest handicraft e-commerce platform in the United States, announced on Tuesday (September 6) that it has launched a QR code (shipping label) scanning function in cooperation with the Royal Mail of the United Kingdom to simplify the delivery process of sellers. Now, when British sellers use the Royal Mail's domestic shipping service, they can show the QR code at the post office and let the staff print the label for free.

This move will provide great convenience for individuals or small sellers, and save the cost of purchasing paper and ink. The company said in the announcement: "If the seller does not have a printer at home, or has a printer but wants to save the time and cost of using it, then it is a perfect choice."

Etsy said that once sellers purchase Royal Mail shipping on Etsy, they will have the option to print a shipping label or view a QR code. However, sellers must take a screenshot of the QR code on a mobile device and present it before delivery.

It is understood that the way to obtain the Etsy shipping label QR code is different from eBay, which sends the QR code to the seller via email.

It’s worth noting that, at the moment, Royal Mail’s QR code scanning feature is only available on the desktop and mobile web versions of Etsy.com and is not available on the Etsy Seller App.
