Walmart announces acquisition of Volt Systems to strengthen supply chain management!

It is learned that according to foreign media reports, Walmart recently announced that it is acquiring Volt Systems, a technology company that provides suppliers with enhanced product resource visibility.

According to reports, through this acquisition, Walmart applications will provide store-level data, actionable analysis and shelf intelligence to enable suppliers to plan, forecast and optimize product categories. At the same time, Walmart will also provide customers with a more convenient shopping experience, reduce problems caused by out-of-stock situations, and strengthen supply chain management.

Walmart said in the announcement: "This transaction affirms Walmart's continued investment in technology and innovation, allowing Walmart to better anticipate customer needs. We will acquire Volt Systems in its entirety, including the company, talent, technology and customer agreements."

It is learned that due to the impact of continued inflation and the shadow of the new coronavirus, Walmart's inventory management has failed to keep up with changes in consumer spending behavior. Last week, Walmart announced that it had excess inventory and would significantly reduce the prices of its clothing products.

In addition, on July 25, Walmart also announced a reduction in its net profit guidance for the second quarter and full year of fiscal 2023, as inflation continued to hit record highs and the economy faced many unfavorable factors.
