Prime Day is coming! USPS is ready to process 50 million packages per day!

It is learned that with Prime Day approaching, USPS said it is ready for the upcoming peak sales season and expects to process 40 million packages on Prime Day. In preparation for the surge in package volume, USPS said it has the capacity to process up to 50 million packages per day.

“We have the ability to ensure every part of our logistics network remains fluid and on time,” said Isaac Cronkhite, USPS chief logistics and processing officer.

It is reported that last year, USPS added 49 package processing centers and 13 million square feet of warehouses in the United States. It rented 3,300 trailers to increase ground transportation capacity, and installed state-of-the-art package sorting machines and other automated equipment in the package processing network. It recruited 63,000 new employees and hired more than 40,000 seasonal employees to expand the workforce to cope with the surge in package processing volume.

Cronkhite said the USPS has been focused on improving service levels and maintaining high on-time delivery rates, and this year it will improve processes, strengthen emergency response capabilities, and work with suppliers and customers to ensure the best service and performance.

It is understood that one comment criticized this: "Hahaha, what are you preparing for? They lost a lot of packages on April 3, and the rates will increase again in July, and the seasonal rates will also increase in October."
