US Customs seized $3.649 million worth of counterfeit goods in 24 hours! Most of them came from China!

According to foreign media reports, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officials recently seized three batches of counterfeit goods from China and the United Kingdom in Louisville, involving drugs, brand-name clothing and jewelry, with a total value of $3.649 million.

The first batch of counterfeit goods was reportedly shipped from Hong Kong, China, and was destined for a residence in Suwanee, Georgia. During the inspection, CBP officers seized 5,052 pairs of counterfeit Chanel earrings, which, if authentic, would have a retail price (MSRP) of $2.27 million.

The second counterfeit shipment was sent from the United Kingdom to a residence in Las Vegas, Nevada. This shipment contained 1,000 packages of sildenafil, which, if authentic, would have a MSRP of more than $309,000.

AZM123 learned that the third shipment was also shipped from Hong Kong, China, and was destined for a residence in Sands Point, New York. During the inspection, CBP officers found 156 counterfeit Chanel handbags with a total value of $1.07 million.

The three shipments were seized in less than 24 hours by CBP officials. Thomas Mahn, director of the Louisville Port Authority, said: "Counterfeit and pirated goods pose a serious threat to the U.S. economy, national security and public safety. In the future, CBP officials will continue to strengthen supervision to prevent criminals from undermining the national economy and security."
