About Woot

Woot is headquartered in Carrolltown, Texas, a suburb of Dallas. It was founded by electronics wholesaler Matt Rutledge and debuted on July 12, 2004.

Woot is one of the first websites in the United States to launch the "One Day, One Deal" concept. Initially, Woot offered a discounted product every day and only provided each customer with one discount shopping opportunity every day. If the product was not sold out on the same day, a new product would be released at 11:59 a.m. Central time every day. The categories include home appliances, digital products, clothing and accessories, jewelry, personal care, sports and outdoor, etc., and the prices are very favorable.

In June 2010, Amazon announced that it had acquired Woot Inc. An Amazon spokesperson said that after the acquisition, Woot will continue to operate independently. The acquisition will stimulate Woot's long-term growth, and it will continue to be committed to providing consumers with a wide range of optional goods at low prices.
