More than 60 injuries were caused! Nearly 180,000 products were recalled!

It is learned that according to foreign media reports, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Bestar recently jointly recalled Bestar wall beds sold online. The reason for the recall is that the wooden boards connected to the bed may fall off and fall on the bed, causing serious impact and crushing hazards.

Bestar has received one death report of a 79-year-old woman suffering spinal injuries from falling boards, and 60 reports of bruises and other injuries.

The recall involves full-size queen wall beds from Nebula, PUR, Versatile, Edge, Cielo, Audrea, Lumina, Orion and Novello. These beds were sold on Wayfair.com, Costco.com, Cymax.com and Amazon.com from June 2014 to March 2022, with prices ranging from $1,650 to $2,200. Currently, about 129,000 beds have been sold in the United States and about 53,000 beds have been sold in Canada.

It is learned that the remedy for this recall is repair. That is, the buyer needs to contact Bestar and obtain an inspection by a professional installer. If the wall bed is confirmed to need to be reinstalled, Bestar will reimburse the reinstallation fee, which is about $170-207 for a wall bed with a shelf, and about $338-414 for a wall bed with a shelf. If the buyer wants to be reimbursed more, he needs to provide relevant supporting documents.
