Be careful when "brushing orders"! The US government is stepping up supervision!

It is learned that according to foreign media reports, the New York Consumer Protection Association (DCWP) recently reminded citizens that "brushing orders" scams have broken out across the United States. Citizens are likely to receive packages they have not ordered. After receiving the packages, criminals will use the buyer's information to post "false positive reviews" online.

DCWP said that in the "brushing" scam, the sender is usually a third-party seller in the international market. They find the address of the target recipient through previous orders, and then send the items. After signing for them, the recipient's identity will become a "verified buyer", and the seller can leave a good review about the product in the name of the recipient.

DCWP spokesman Robert J. Rodriguez said that "fake reviews" will improve product ratings and exaggerate product sales, thereby helping criminals increase actual sales, and this practice will also lead to the leakage of citizens' personal information. The United States is determined to put an end to this bad business practice.

It is understood that DCWP reminds American citizens that when they receive items from platforms such as Amazon, Walmart, eBay or WISH, they should contact them immediately. DCWP will help citizens to ask retailers to delete any false reviews under the names of citizens and impose certain penalties on sellers.
