Walmart launches temperature-controlled package lockers in Florida, USA! Priced at $499!

According to foreign media reports, Walmart is currently providing temperature-controlled parcel locker services (HomeValet Smart Boxes) to customers in Florida, USA. The temperature-controlled parcel lockers can be used to store fresh food, frozen products and other goods that have high requirements for the storage environment.

It is reported that the temperature-controlled parcel cabinet is not a public facility of Walmart. Customers need to purchase it from Walmart. The price is US$499 (£386). Customers can choose to install it where they want.

In addition, to prevent the parcel from being stolen, the parcel locker is also equipped with a smart connected locking function. HomeValet's smart box is powered by the Internet of Things (IoT) platform, which has three temperature control zones. The courier will use a one-time code to open the locker and maintain the goods at a controlled temperature.

Walmart said the device is currently in the pilot testing phase and is expected to be sold in Florida by the end of this month, in an effort to explore the possibility of more home delivery services.
