The US government has launched a series of "anti-counterfeiting" advertisements! Remind consumers to be careful when buying counterfeit products!

It is learned that according to foreign media reports, the National Crime Prevention Council (NCPC) and the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) recently jointly launched a series of "anti-counterfeiting" advertisements to inform citizens of the dangers of buying counterfeit goods.

The ads reportedly target various counterfeit electronic products, cosmetics, personal care products and sports equipment sold online, and were launched on more than 2,100 TV stations, various social media platforms and online websites in the United States.

Drew Hirshfeld, director of the United States Patent and Trademark Office, said that it is very necessary to launch "anti-counterfeiting" advertisements at the beginning of the 2021 holiday shopping boom, which can effectively help consumers stay vigilant against counterfeit goods. The USPTO will never allow any domestic or foreign merchants to "slaughter" American consumers when supply chain problems are severe.

Paul DelPonte, executive director of the National Crime Prevention Council, said that counterfeit products have seriously endangered the personal safety of American residents. In the United States, counterfeit electronic products cause more than 70 deaths and 350,000 serious injuries each year.

It is understood that the USPTO also predicts that global e-commerce sales of counterfeit goods may exceed 2 trillion US dollars in 2021, and the number of merchants selling counterfeit goods is much greater than those selling illegal drugs and human traffickers.
