Lowe's launches room scanning feature! Virtual interior decoration further explored!

It is learned that Lowe's in the United States is planning to launch an indoor space scanning function called "Measure Your Space". The application will guide customers to scan the room and automatically generate floor plans, room measurements and personalized estimates.

The feature follows the June 2020 release of Lowe's for Pros Job Sight, an enhanced video chat service based on Streem technology that allows plumbers, contractors and other professionals to conduct virtual home visits with customers.

"Lowe's and Streem are leveraging sophisticated augmented reality tools to create a simple, user-friendly app experience," said Ryan Fink, president and co-founder of Streem. "Measure Your Space demonstrates the value of today's spatial commerce by using a guided AR and AI experience to provide consumers with the practical tools and data they need to improve their interiors."

It is understood that "Measure Your Space" will be launched as a commercial beta at the end of the first quarter of 2022 and will only be open to Lowe's iOS application, suitable for users of iPhone 12Pro/ProMax, iPhone 13Pro/ProMax and iPadPro.
