It is learned that according to eMarketer's forecast, US digital advertising spending will soar to US$210 billion this year, an increase of 38.3% from 2020. Google, Facebook and Amazon will account for 64.0% of all digital advertising spending in the United States this year, which is almost the same as their proportion in 2020.
eMarketer noted that this year's U.S. ad spending is $20 billion higher than previously forecast, largely due to stronger-than-expected performance from digital ad companies and a sharp increase in ad prices.
According to forecasts, display ads will continue to occupy a major share of the entire advertising market. The share of search ads will remain roughly the same this year as in 2020, and will decline slightly by 2025. It is expected that the overall digital advertising expenditure in the United States will exceed the $300 billion mark in 2025.
