Retail sales increased by 2.4% in August! Which categories are more popular among Canadians?

According to Reuters, Canada's retail sales fell 0.6% to $55.8 billion in July and increased 2.4% in August. Statistics Canada expects retail sales to grow in September as well, but at a slower pace.

It is reported that as the epidemic eased, Canadian consumers began to return to restaurants and restaurants, resulting in a 3.4% drop in total retail sales of food and beverages in July. Retail sales of building materials and gardening equipment and supplies decreased by 7.3%. However, retail sales of clothing and clothing accessories increased by 7.6%, a record high.

It is learned that in the field of e-commerce, Canada's e-commerce retail sales fell by 2.9% year-on-year in July to US$2.9 billion.
