1. Amazon Japan discount coupons will add new price regulations   

On February 20, Amazon backend updated the announcement : Starting from March 19, 2024, Amazon Japan discount coupons will introduce new price requirements. If the price or discount of the coupon does not meet these conditions, the ASIN of the coupon will be temporarily suspended from enabling discount activities.



If the coupon's ASIN is not in the search results due to an error in the price setting, the coupon display page will display the following error message:

1. Price history related issues. This ASIN does not meet the price history requirements for the coupon. The ASIN must have a sales record to activate the coupon.
2. Increase the discount rate. This ASIN does not meet the price requirement. The promotion price (purchaseable price - discount amount) must be lower than: past price or the most recent lowest price. To target this ASIN, increase the discount amount.
3. Minimum/maximum discount related issues. The coupon needs to have a discount rate in the range of "Lower limit % of sales price discount" to "Upper limit % of sales price discount" corresponding to the current price.


Will it be impossible to set coupons for new products in the future? Must there be a sales record to set a coupon lower than the lowest price? Some sellers speculate that it may be similar to Prime, except that the minimum coupon starts at 5%. Everyone can check your backend to see if there is such news, you can study it~

2. New function launch - generating product information content

Recently, a seller found that Amazon has launched a new feature when listing - Generate Product Information Content . It is understood that this feature generates product names, descriptions and key points based on brief input.


Take mobile phone cases as an example. As long as you enter keywords or provide pictures, Amazon will automatically generate titles, selling points, descriptions, etc. If the seller is not satisfied with the generated content, they can refresh and regenerate the content.



This feature makes it easier for sellers who sell a wide range of products to create listings. For sellers who sell high-quality products, it can also serve as a reference for providing copywriting.


Some sellers on the US site have tested this function and think it is indeed easy to use, but there are bugs. Sometimes other people's listings will be written in, and they will also carry other people's brands . So you need to check it several times yourself, otherwise it will cause trouble if it leads to infringement.


Some sellers also said that although it is easy to use, they still need to check the keywords themselves, which keywords to promote, and embed the keywords well. In his opinion, Amazon has brought similar functions to ChatGPT.


It has to be said that this feature makes it easier for sellers to create listings. But as the seller mentioned above pointed out, no matter how good the listings produced by the tool are, it still depends on the accuracy of the instructions given by the operator behind the tool.
