Urgent! What to do if Amazon's new products are out of stock?

The mentality after new products are out of stock

1. Sales gap.
The most direct negative impact of a new product being out of stock is that sales are temporarily lost. In the short term (within two weeks), sales will decline after the product is restocked. In the long term (more than two weeks), sales will drop to zero. If the product is restocked after the on-sale date exceeds the new product period, then it will be the worst. Sales will drop to zero, and without the support of the new product period, the link is no different from being useless.

2. Loss of confidence.
For many sellers (especially newbies), out-of-stock situations have a huge negative impact on them, especially when they see a product that is selling well but is suddenly out of stock.
If the sales of long-out-of-stock products drop drastically after being resold, then the sellers will really feel desperate.

Solutions for new product out of stock

1. New products have fewer reviews, and their star rating is significantly lower than or equal to the average star rating of the product category (excluding malicious negative reviews from competitors).

(1) It is not recommended to replenish stock, but you can try to launch new products.
(2) If subsequent product reviews will make the product review rating good, in this case, you can consider incorporating links and adding reviews.

2. New products have fewer reviews, and their star rating is equal to or higher than the average star rating in the product category (excluding malicious negative reviews given by competitors).

Look at the out-of-stock cycle:
(1) If the out-of-stock period is less than two weeks, it is best to keep the normal price of the product unchanged. If the out-of-stock period is indeed quite long, you can slightly increase the price, but don’t raise it too much at once. Raising 5% or one or two dollars at a time is enough. At the same time, before Amazon runs out of stock, the advertising cost should be reduced to the minimum (you don’t have to turn off the advertising, just set it to $1 per campaign).
(2) Emergency replenishment. Replenishing Amazon warehouses quickly by air or even express delivery can alleviate the shortage crisis in a timely manner, but it is very expensive. It is recommended to replenish a small part of the goods, and use the limited delivery service of Matson to replenish the majority of the goods. This ensures that the rest of the goods can be replenished after a small part is sold out.
(3) Shipping conservatively. If the ratings of new products are similar to or even far higher than similar products, this does not mean that the reviews of the product will be good in the future. It can only be said that there is a high probability that they will be acceptable. As a seller, we should be conservative in shipping, not only considering the sales volume of the product itself, but also considering the traffic support for the new product.
(4) Stocking plan. If the product is in the off-season or in a stable period, the weighted sales rate = (average sales of three days + average sales of seven days + average sales of 14 days + average sales of 30 days) / 4. This can give you a rough prediction of your daily sales. However, if it is the peak season, you need to multiply the sales volume based on the historical sales trend. For example, if your sales volume in the peak season last year was three times that in the off-season, then your stocking volume should be about three times the usual volume (of course, there are also cases where the peak season is not so busy, such as this year, many categories will be like this), and delivery should also be combined with your logistics timeliness. In addition, mature operations often do not send only one batch, but will be divided into batches (if there are many batches in one batch, it will be very troublesome if there is an inspection). In my seller circle of friends, there is a saying about stocking, "If you want to have a continuous supply, you need a month of goods on the road, a month of goods in the Amazon warehouse, and a month of goods from the factory (this is suitable for mature old products. For new products, unless you are very confident in your product, it is recommended to wait for half a month first.)" In short, for sellers, especially growing sellers, it is difficult to run out of stock if they have adequate stock.
(5) If the product is out of stock for more than two weeks (usually when the sales of new products are very large or the logistics are too poor), if it is close to two weeks, such as three weeks, you can delay it by raising the price. However, if it is far away, such as a month or even longer, it is recommended to directly create a new listing and merge the old link.
