What is eCRATER? eCRATER Review

eCRATER is a free online marketplace and e-commerce website that provides a platform for sellers, and an online store builder that allows sellers to customize their own online stores. Sellers can also import eBay stores directly into eCRATER.

About eCRATER

The first item sold on the eCRATER site was a CD by the rock band Motorhead for $10.99. The most expensive item ever sold on eCRATER is a 2005 Chevrolet Corvette.

eCRATER has a shopping cart feature that allows buyers to pay using PayPal, Google Checkout, check or money order.

The eCRATER community forum was launched on February 24, 2006. The main categories of the community forum include: art, antiques, treasures, books, cameras and photos, collectibles, computers, crafts, electronics, movies and DVDs, home and garden, music, sports or outdoors, toys, games and hobbies.

Development History

- In early 2004, programmer Dimitar Slavov launched eCRATER. He spent about four months writing the initial version of the website and launched the bETA version in early autumn 2004.

-On February 24, 2006, eCRATER launched the community forum.

-As of October 2008, eCRATER has 1.5 million products.

-In January 2009, eCRATER had 65,242 active stores and 462,000 unique visitors per day.
