Development History

In 2004, an online mall named Zozotown was officially launched.

In 2006, the logistics center Zozobase was established.

At the end of October 2011 , Zozotown (known as "Zouzoucheng" in China) entered China and opened a store on Tmall, intending to share a share of the Chinese apparel e-commerce market.

On January 31, 2013 , Zozotown completely closed its stores in China.

In 2017 , Zozotown also acquired the online lifestyle magazine honeyee.com and its e-commerce website, JUST LIKE HONEYEE , which was jointly created by Hiroshi Fujiwara, Hirofumi Kiyonaga, Seiji Nakamura and Tetsu Suzuki, editor of " smart " magazine .

Starting from October 2017 , Zozotown changed the website's limited free shipping to allow customers to decide the shipping costs of their products.

In December 2017 , Zozotown and technology company StretchSense designed a new body measurement device called ZOZOSUITS .

At the end of 2017, Zozotown opened its own brand " ZOZO ".

At the shareholders' meeting in June 2018 , the board of directors of Start Today Co ( Zozotown's parent company and operator) decided to officially change the company name to Zozo Inc starting in October this year .

On December 25, 2018 , Japanese fashion group Onward Holdings (hereinafter referred to as " Onward ") announced that all its brands would withdraw from Zozotown and all products would be removed from shelves on the same day. This move may become a turning point for Japan's fashion e-commerce industry.

In August 2020, ZOZO, the parent company of Japanese fashion e-commerce giant Zozotown, announced that it had acquired a 51% stake in yutori, the operator of Japan's largest vintage clothing community "Vintage Girls". The transaction amount has not yet been disclosed.
