For sellers who are willing to share their experiences, eBay decided to provide some benefits and allow them to become mentors to provide free help to other sellers. Therefore, the Community Mentor Program came into being.

Community mentor benefits

1. Enter the private tutor lounge and connect with your peers;

2. Direct access to the eBay community team, including monthly video chats;

3. Have the opportunity to shape new features for the community;

4. Exclusive badges on community profiles;

5. Opportunities to be invited to exclusive events.

condition

1. Active eBay buyer or seller;

2. Publish using eBay transaction ID;

3. Speak more than 500 times in the community;

4. Active community participant for more than 6 months;

5. Willing to mentor others.

Some would say this is eBay's cost-cutting scheme, allowing experienced sellers to do the work that eBay customer support should be doing for free. However, they are wrong. Any seller who has been on eBay for a few years knows that most of the best support and valuable knowledge about the practicalities of selling on eBay comes from the seller community itself.

Of course, if there is a site outage, then the only person you can escalate to is eBay customer support, but if you need some complex selling advice, you will usually be better served by an experienced fellow seller.

So, eBay plans to work with their community mentors, and the platform is currently recognizing the support that can be given and providing some rewards to mentors who work tirelessly to help their fellow sellers.
