Crash! European warehouse refuses to accept goods weighing more than 15KG? Another warehouse also burned down!

The current situation of Amazon sellers: eating quick-acting heart-saving pills as if they were popcorn.
This morning, the seller communication group exploded again!

European warehouse refuses to accept goods weighing more than 15KG?

A seller asked: Does Amazon now require that the outer boxes shipped to FBA cannot exceed 15kg?

Then a seller replied: I have opened several cases and they all said that a single box cannot exceed 15kg.

Amazon customer service said:

Since the warehouse needs to arrange two people to handle ASINs that require team processing (ASINs over 15kg), this violates the European "1-meter social distance" regulations, so the warehouse is temporarily unable to handle products weighing more than 15KG .

The warehouse is unable to ship, transfer, or remove orders for buyers. Therefore, the products can only be temporarily stored in the warehouse. We will notify you about the storage fee later.

According to the information currently known, this policy is only implemented on European sites, and there are no similar regulations on the US site.

Later, a seller responded: The normal cargo weight on the US site is still 12KG-22KG.

Single box/single item exceeds 15KG?

Some sellers have also consulted customer service regarding whether the warehouse is unable to handle a single box or a single item weighing more than 15KG.

Customer service said: There is no clear explanation, but currently single items or boxes of items weighing more than 15kg are not available for sale.

But some sellers said that the customer service replied: it is the weight of a box, not a single product exceeding 15KG.

Amazon's customer service capabilities are really worrying...

What to do with goods in transit?

A seller complained: It’s about 21kg, and I, a girl, can carry it downstairs, and there are several boxes.

However, considering the epidemic situation, the introduction of this measure must be a last resort.

Previously, FBA banned non-essential goods from entering the warehouse, and sellers were already facing the dilemma of being out of stock. Now that weight restrictions are in place, it is obvious that this news is another blow to sellers.

Some sellers said that they can no longer sell FBA online inventory...

One seller said: "It's really frustrating. There are already a lot of goods in transit and the customs clearance is slow. Now there is a weight limit. Will my goods that were in transit also be subject to this operation?"

Some sellers said they have received a notice: We now have more than 5 SKUs that have been blocked and shown as inactive because they are over 15KG.

Because the products of furniture sellers are all large items, the weight of one item is more than 15KG, which is very frustrating.

Regarding boxes weighing more than 15KG and individual items weighing no more than 15KG, customer service recommends that you handle them separately. As long as they do not exceed 15KG, the warehouse can still accept them normally.

“I have to unbox again. I am so upset.”

A customer service representative responded that if the goods in transit exceed 15KG, they cannot be processed when they arrive at the warehouse. Most sellers said that they have to be unpacked again, and the unpacking fees will undoubtedly increase the operating costs.

Finally, I would like to summarize several key points about this regulation:
1. European warehouses cannot handle single boxes or items weighing more than 15KG.
2. Goods in transit weighing more than 15KG are also suspected to be unable to be processed.
3. Overweight products can only be temporarily placed in the warehouse. The issue of storage fees will be notified later.
4. Single item weighing no more than 15KG can be unpacked.

Just now, I saw this news in the seller communication group: Amazon PHX5 warehouse caught fire...

Some sellers joked: Burning it is a good thing, anyway, if it can't be sold, you can get compensation...

Amazon later issued a statement confirming the fire.

I wonder if sellers have anything to complain about Amazon’s recent actions. You are welcome to discuss in the comment section.
