Breaking news! Something went wrong with the merging of comments! Tens of thousands of comments were cleared overnight...
Recently, many sellers have found that the number of comments on their listings has begun to drop rapidly, with some links even losing thousands of comments overnight.

These links are not new, many are old , and these comments just disappeared overnight ?

The seller said that he was devastated because the money was not obtained by fake orders but was accumulated with great effort and it was gone just like that. However, it is possible that this old link was used by other colleagues to merge international reviews , which caused the problem .

Split them all! 100,000 comments disappeared overnight...

Not only that, a large number of sellers found that their normally synchronized international reviews were all split up . The reviews were still shared, but the star ratings were not added up.

Whether it is illegal or normal, everything is gone...

Not only the comments on the synchronized sites, but also some of the synchronized site comments have disappeared...

I opened a case and asked customer service, and the answer I got was: This was automatically captured by the system .

In fact, foreign sellers discovered this situation last week. Some well-ranked listings have experienced this situation:

Last week I noticed that some listings were no longer merging global reviews . Using Helium 10 I could see that some products had thousands of reviews missing. Has anyone else noticed this? Not all listings, just the most important ones. I wonder if this will happen to all ASINs in the future .”

This week, domestic sellers have also discovered that the number of global synchronized reviews has changed. What happened?

A seller said that there was news that: " Starting from April, Amazon has set new rules for international reviews . Transferred reviews can no longer be displayed on other sites. Now only the number of reviews on the local site is displayed." However, Amazon did not issue any relevant announcement on this rule change.

It is not clear whether Amazon's global review sharing rules have changed or whether Amazon is conducting a large-scale rectification. However, sellers should be cautious in performing such operations in the near future . If you have performed such operations before, you should also pay more attention to the link status in the near future.

Are compliant sellers implicated as merger black operations continue?

It is understood that Amazon began testing the global shared review function on October 15, 2019. The original intention was only to synchronize product reviews on global sites, allowing buyers to make wise purchasing decisions and improve the shopping experience when there are few or no reviews on local sites.

However, Amazon does not provide automatic synchronization of global reviews . Therefore, some ASINs that are only opened on a single site or a few sites may be synchronized by others on other sites if they are not synchronized, and then the content of the listing will be changed, which in turn will affect the sales of normal sites.

Some service providers seized this loophole and took some weird actions to change the nature of this function.

In order to increase the number of reviews, some sellers illegally merge zombie listings from international sites . Some even modify and merge brands across sites, causing some sellers’ listings to become unsold or trigger audits.

The adverse effects of this series of shady operations may be the reason for Amazon’s large-scale review deletions. In fact, illegally merging international reviews poses great risks to both the merging site and the merged site.

Although some sellers have merged and their listings on other sites continue to receive positive reviews, the same old saying still applies: the little red flag may be late but it will never be absent .

What should I do if my listing is merged by someone else? Some sellers suggest to file a complaint in time, because these links merged by service providers, a series of tampering with brands, illegal operations, etc. in the future will inevitably affect the normal sales of the original listing, which may lead to the removal of the link or even an audit.

Complaint path: Brand Center --- Report violations of market policies --- Parent product-child product relationship errors

The brand team handles this quickly and basically splits up these illegal variants very quickly.
