Sellers please note! These fees will increase during peak season!

During this year's Black Friday and Cyber Monday, consumers' shopping enthusiasm was high, repeatedly breaking the previous sluggish sales situation.

The two-day autumn promotion came to an end, and Amazon quickly announced the excellent results of this promotion. During this Amazon Prime Day, Amazon Prime members purchased more than 150 million items from third-party sellers and saved more than $1 billion through various discounts.

Data from a market research company shows that during the promotion period, consumers spent an average of $53.47 per order, which is a very good result.

On the first day of the sale, U.S. Prime members purchased more than 25 million items for same-day or next-day delivery. The most amazing thing is that hundreds of thousands of items were delivered within 4 hours , which is really efficient.

Amazon's hot sales this year show consumers' desire for discounts. The successful conclusion of the membership day has played a good role in the beginning and warming up of sales in the Q4 holiday season, greatly stimulating consumers' shopping desire.

Of course, many sellers still feel that the response to this autumn promotion is not enthusiastic enough. The low order volume in the early stage once made NANA doubt that this autumn promotion will be a cold situation. In fact, many consumers did not spend money on Amazon's autumn Prime Day event. The subsequent Black Friday Cyber Monday is the highlight.

Peak season is here and these fees are about to go up!

The annual Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales season is coming. According to previous years’ practice, the period from Thanksgiving to Christmas and New Year is an important shopping period in the United States. During this period, the order volume will explode, resulting in higher logistics costs.

Amazon announced an increase in its annual holiday peak delivery fees, with the new rates taking effect from October 15, 2023 to January 14, 2024.

This year's holiday peak delivery fees will apply to US FBA, Canada FBA, Amazon Remote Fulfillment Program, and Multi-Channel Fulfillment (MCF). It is worth noting that US FBA products priced below $10 are not included. (Sellers of products priced below $10 breathed a sigh of relief at this moment...sellers priced above $10 spit out a mouthful of blood.)

Of course, this fee is likely to lead sellers to lower their prices, just because of the $10 limit.

You can take a look at the peak season delivery costs excluding clothing products:

Peak season delivery costs for clothing products:

You can see that the FBA delivery cost for each product has increased significantly. If there are many returns, this cost cannot be underestimated.

During the peak season, sellers should not only pay attention to sales performance and advertising expenses, but also monthly storage fees .

As can be seen from the above figure, the storage fees between standard items and large items in the off-season and standard items and large items in the peak season are 2 to 3 times different.

Some sellers in the shopping circle expressed their confusion and shock at the news of the delivery fee increase.

"I feel like I work as a porter during the peak season at the end of the year, and I can only make a little money during normal times."

“Storage fees, long-term storage fees, and delivery fees have all gone up!”

It is conceivable that if there is too much inventory but sales are not good, it will undoubtedly be a loss for the seller.

Amazon's peak season in the second half of 2023 has arrived, and the problem of warehouse explosion will gradually appear again. Of course, it is best if it does not occur. I hope that all sellers can do a good job of analysis and planning, and create their own peak season order explosion plan to avoid unnecessary losses caused by warehouse explosion.

I have a stocking table for the peak season, which includes the order creation time, delivery time, pickup days and receipt date of the goods. You can see the logistics status of the goods and whether there are any delays. It contains some calculation formulas that can help sellers calculate logistics and transportation data as soon as possible during the peak season.
