Amazon launches new delivery method? It is being piloted on a small scale

Since Amazon restarted its replenishment restrictions in July, sellers have tried various channels to solve logistics problems. Amazon is also working hard to solve the current FBA warehouse capacity problem. On the one hand, it is constantly expanding warehouses and recruiting people, and on the other hand, it is also trying to solve delivery problems with delivery providers such as USPS.

In recent days, foreign media reported that Amazon is testing a new delivery method on a small scale - "Less Than Truckload Service" .

This program allows sellers to use pallet shipping instead of small package shipping, in which each box is affixed with a separate delivery label. With the less than truckload shipping service, sellers can consolidate boxes onto one pallet for delivery. After the seller applies for this service, Amazon will be responsible for palletizing the products and shipping them via UPS freight or Kuehne + Nagel.

This mode of transportation is particularly suitable for sellers who deliver large quantities of products. Whether it is delivering goods to buyers who have purchased many products, or for transferring goods between various FBA warehouses, the cost will be significantly lower than traditional methods. Amazon also officially recommends that European sellers use this service to transport goods to FBA operation centers in Germany, the United Kingdom, Italy and other places.

This service is currently only being tested on a small scale in the UK and Germany . Some sellers using Amazon's partner carrier program can now create delivery processes directly in the background, and can also see estimated shipping costs and related tracking information.

The cost of this service will also depend on the size and weight of the package or pallet, the shipping/delivery address, etc., and if the actual data is different from the forecast data, Amazon will automatically adjust the estimated cost.

The new transportation plan that Amazon is testing is obviously an attempt at transfer and large-scale distribution. While significantly reducing shipping costs, the transportation and distribution of large quantities of products can also quickly reduce warehouse storage pressure, which is a good thing for both sellers and Amazon.

Although there is no news about the use of this plan in the US site yet, the test feedback on the European site is quite good. The US site may join the test of the plan as soon as possible. After all, Prime Day on the US site is the most important now. If the warehouse capacity problem cannot be solved in time, Amazon will definitely be more busy on this year's Member Day.

There is still no confirmed date for Primeday, but I have found some other information that indirectly indicates that Primeday should take place before October 26th.

Latest news on Primeday dates

According to foreign media reports, Amazon UK is preparing for this year's Black Friday warm-up activities, which are expected to last from October 26 to November 19, for about 3 weeks.

This year, Primeday will be held simultaneously on the UK and US websites, so the date will definitely not be later than the 26th. We can boldly predict that the Black Friday pre-heating activities will definitely be carried out after Primeday, and it is unlikely that the Black Friday pre-heating activities will start immediately after the Member Day. So I infer that Primeday will be held in the first half of October , leaving a gap for the Black Friday pre-heating activities starting on the 26th.

This year's Prime Day is a critical period for concentrated traffic at the end of the year. Whether we can make good use of the traffic peak during this period is the top priority for our sellers in the second half of the year. Today, the 28th, is the deadline for the free event - Prime Day coupons! Students who have not signed up yet, hurry up!
