Should a novice who wants to do business on Amazon do research on his own or seek training?

Should a novice who wants to do business on Amazon do research on his own or seek training?

The first way: Do research on your own: First of all, novices lack a lot of basic experience and are not familiar with the basic backend operations and the entire operation process. The so-called solo research is also a cover. Starting a business requires freedom of time and self-discipline. At the beginning, you don’t know how to arrange your work all day long. You don’t know anything and it’s easy to run into obstacles. Over time, you lose confidence and even give up this industry.

Recently I encountered a funny example. A newbie listened to other people's product selection and started to confidently ship and put the products on the shelves without calculating the gross profit of the products. When I asked him later, he didn't understand. Moreover, they sent thousands of large quantities of goods at once, and there was only one model. It really broke my cognition. They were really careless. I couldn't understand why they were so radical. When I asked him later, he said that his friend sold well, so he chose this product.

I just airfreighted the goods to the FBA warehouse, but they didn't know how to run advertisements. They just turned on automatic advertisements and ignored everything else. The ACOS was as high as 200. They were really a complete newbie and a Buddhist. I used the product selection table to calculate the gross profit. Under the premise of ACOS at 30%, the gross profit was still negative, which really broke my understanding.

What the hell, if you really work for the platform, my brother-in-law will be grateful to more unprofessional leeks like this. I can tell at first glance that he is a newbie whose entire product selection and operation ideas are a mess and he lacks the ability to learn and think proactively. He just does what others say and blames the mistakes on the training institution. He lacks the ability to think proactively and is not good at communicating with knowledgeable people. Little do he know that what the training institution says may not be suitable for you, and if you blindly follow what others say, you are doomed to lose money and pay tuition fees.

In fact, the reason for making such a mistake is that you don’t really know yourself, are unfamiliar with the industry, and think it is easy. Most newbies are too arrogant and blindly confident, always thinking that they are the chosen ones of entrepreneurship, but they don’t know that they are nothing. The fact is that there is a 99% chance of failure. B2B companies that come to Amazon have fallen into the trap, let alone you, a newcomer with nothing. Failure is also inevitable. In this example, she is a novice working alone and most of the time she falls into traps. It can be said that she steps on landmines so frequently that she doesn't even have enough life.

The second way: rely on training institutions. To be realistic, it is unrealistic to rely on others in any industry. It is better to rely on yourself than on others.

Why do people do training? Why do they do training when they can earn money? Isn’t it better to make a fortune quietly? Moreover, many training teachers are also novices, and they are just packaging their skills. Their actual experience is not as good as the experience I gained when I first started working for a few months.

Of course, those so-called lecturers have fooled you enough, and you only have a half-understanding after listening to them, because this is an industry that requires practical operation, and you can't take off just by listening to a few theories and then going back to do it. I do not rule out the possibility that there are good training institutions, but in fact, most of them are there to make money.

The third way: work as an operator in a boutique company. The company has an account for you to practice, and the risks are borne by the company. In it, you can become familiar with the entire process and learn how to control everything from product selection to operation and promotion, logistics and replenishment, as well as account risks.

Wouldn't it be more confident if you learn these and then work on your own? If you take this path, the only cost you have is time, and you can also gain experience and earn income.

My personal suggestion is that if you want to go to work in a company and do your own research at the same time, don’t be too cautious and take things step by step. If you are too cautious, you will easily be ripped off. Because there are some things that you cannot learn in the company, you have to study and learn this industry hard to go further.
