It is learned that on February 13, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced the recall of a cooler sold by Igloo because its dragging handle may pinch fingers, causing the risk of fingertip amputation and squeezing. The recalled products are Igloo 90 Qt. flip and tow rolling coolers manufactured before January 2024. The manufacturing date is printed on the bottom of the cooler in a circular pattern with an arrow pointing to the manufacturing month and the last two digits of the manufacturing year. The cooler has "IGLOO" printed on the side and is sold in a variety of body and lid color combinations. Image source: CPSC Between January 2019 and January 2025, about 1.06 million units of the product were sold in the United States at stores such as Costco, Target, Academy, Dick's, and websites such as Amazon.com and Igloocoolers.com, with prices ranging from $80 to $140. So far, the company has received 12 reports of fingertip injuries, including fingertip amputations, fractures, and lacerations. The CPSC said consumers should immediately stop using the recalled coolers and contact Igloo to receive a free replacement handle.
