Etsy announcement: Sellers can increase product exposure through new Google features!

It is learned that on November 14, Etsy, the largest handicraft e-commerce platform in the United States, issued an announcement stating that sellers' off-site advertisements may appear in Google Shopping search results.

Earlier this month, Google announced the launch of a "small business" label for eligible U.S. sellers, making it easier for shoppers to find and support small businesses during the holiday season. According to Google's instructions, sellers can identify themselves as small businesses in the Google Merchant Center and Merchant Profile platforms, and Google will automatically add labels based on factors such as the number of products provided and web traffic.

Etsy said it is currently working with some sellers to test whether Google's new "small business" label can increase product exposure.

According to the announcement, sellers who use offsite ads and ship to the United States may have their products appear in Google Shopping search results with the "Small Business" label.

In addition, during the test period, sellers do not have to pay any advertising fees for transactions completed on Google through Offsite Ads, which means sellers can increase product exposure without additional charges.

It is learned that Etsy launched the Offsite Ads advertising marketing tool in February 2020. Etsy requires all sellers to participate in the program, and its system will automatically register sellers. If the seller's annual sales are less than $10,000, they can choose to withdraw, but if the seller's annual sales exceed $10,000, then they are not allowed to withdraw.
