It is learned that according to foreign media reports, the US second-hand e-commerce platform Poshmark has launched a visual search function called "Posh Lens", which aims to allow shoppers to find products through photos taken with their mobile phones. In the Poshmark app, customers can tap the Posh Lens icon in the search bar from their feed or the store tab. They can also navigate to Posh Lens through the Sales tab in the app. Customers then snap or upload a photo on their phone to find similar items. There’s no need to describe or provide the exact name of the product, brand or style — a photo is enough. However, to ensure accurate search results, Poshmark recommends that shoppers provide a clear, centered photo with a simple background. After submitting their photos, users can browse search results and shop available listings, whether they find the exact item they want or discover similar alternatives. It’s worth noting that Posh Lens is currently available for select product categories on Poshmark, including women’s clothing, men’s clothing, shoes, and luggage. Poshmark said that search results will show items that closely match or are similar to the uploaded pictures. The new feature not only enhances the user's shopping experience, but also increases the exposure and traffic of sellers' products. Poshmark was acquired by Naver, a South Korean Internet company, in January this year. Posh Lens is the first feature launched by Poshmark since its acquisition by Naver. It is also the first smart lens image recognition and image-based search tool on Poshmark. Now, all mobile APP users of iOS and Android systems in the United States can use this feature. “The launch of Posh Lens is just the beginning of the innovation we are bringing to our users in partnership with Naver,” said Manish Chandra, founder and CEO of Poshmark. “Our sellers curate a vast catalog of unique items, and Posh Lens enables shoppers to bring their inspiration to life and find the perfect product with just a single photo.” In April this year, Poshmark also announced the launch of the live shopping feature "PoshShows" in the United States and Canada. Posh Shows provides a simple user interface and a set of proprietary sales tools designed to allow any seller to quickly get started and start live streaming, no matter how many items they sell or how many fans they have. It is reported that to date, the Poshmark platform has more than 100 million active users and a gross merchandise value (GMV) of more than US$8 billion.
