It is learned that recently, American retail giant Best Buy announced a partnership with live streaming e-commerce platform TalkShopLive to launch a sales model of online live streaming ordering and in-store pickup. This marks the first time that live streaming shopping in the United States can be picked up in physical stores.
Best Buy will start live streaming on TalkShopLive starting on Monday evening, December 12, with TikTok influencer Noah Schnacky as the host to introduce related products. According to TalkShopLive, Best Buy is the first major offline retailer to sell through TalkShopLive.
Best Buy’s partnership with TalkShopLive comes as the “BOPIS” (buy online, pick up in store) shopping model becomes increasingly popular in the U.S. Research shows that 25% of consumers use BOPIS on Black Friday, nearly double last year’s rate.
At the same time, the live shopping model in the United States is gradually growing. TalkShopLive has been working hard to attract new customers over the past year. In February 2022, TalkShopLive officially cooperated with Walmart and launched 8 live shopping events.
This follows a trial period in 2021, during which Walmart will be able to offer shoppable content directly on its own platforms, MSN Shopping tabs and other product partner websites through TalkShopLive’s embedded video player. Walmart has already launched TalkShopLive live broadcasts with advertising partners such as Johnson & Johnson, L’Oréal, Procter & Gamble and Samsung.
In November 2022, TalkShop Live began working with digital media technology provider FrontRunner Technologies to offer what the two companies called the first "live e-commerce window shopping experience."
The live shopping shows will roll out continuously throughout the holiday season, while select replays of dozens of other TalkShop Live shows will play in the window, including live shopping with celebrities and influencers including Shania Twain, Bobby Flay, Dolly Parton, Drew Barrymore and Ludacris.
TalkShopLive CEO said that products featured in TalkShopLive shows often receive more than 1,500% omnichannel sales lift. Since holiday shopping often causes shipping delays, in-store pickup allows customers to have a personal and interactive live shopping experience without having to worry about delivery times.
