Walmart launches GoLocal delivery service! The first customer is The Home Depot!

Walmart has launched a delivery service, GoLocal, and its first service customer will be The Home Depot. It is reported that customers will receive a "ping" notification tone after placing an order on GoLocal. Walmart launched this business in late August, planning to attract retailers from local stores to various retailers across the country and profit from the last mile of delivery, similar to third-party services such as Instacart. The hired drivers will use Walmart's delivery platform Spark Driver for delivery.

After the order is placed, Walmart will send a driver to complete the order. It is understood that The Home Depot will now rely on Walmart's GoLocal to support the delivery of its scheduled same-day and next-day delivery products such as tools, fasteners, paint and other home improvement products.

Walmart's home improvement brand will begin offering delivery in select markets but plans to expand nationwide by the end of the year, the company said in a statement.

"We are working hard to provide our customers with the best shopping experience possible, offering a wide range of fast and reliable delivery options," said Stephanie Smith, senior vice president of supply chain at The Home Depot.

It is learned that The Home Depot's selection of Walmart's GoLocal delivery service is a move by Home Depot to seek different delivery options, planned delivery and online shopping to expand its e-commerce capabilities. The company's online sales increased by 86% in 2020, and choosing GoLocal will help improve its operational efficiency.
