Shopify shuts down Exchange Marketplace! Sellers can no longer access it!

Leading e-commerce platform Shopify has shut down Exchange Marketplace on November 1. The application, data, and listings have all been deleted and are no longer accessible to sellers.

Sellers using Shopify's e-commerce software will no longer be able to use Exchange Marketplace, an app that allowed users to buy or sell e-commerce brands launched in 2017. It is not clear why the app was shut down.

Shopify reminds users that all sales and store conversions need to be completed by November 1. The app will be completely deactivated on that date and sellers will no longer have access," and all data and listings on the app have been deleted.

Shopify says it encourages sellers to exchange contact information with any buyers they are currently discussing a sale with. If they want to sell their Shopify store, sellers will need to look for other apps or marketplaces.

It is learned that this is not the first time Shopify has removed its own applications. Earlier this year, Shopify shut down its famous dropshipping plug-in Oberlo.
