According to foreign media reports, on July 7, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Health Canada announced the recall of Scholastic's "Shake Look Touch" children's books. The reason for the recall is that the pompoms on the books may fall off, posing a choking hazard to young children. It is reported that this is a sensory training book designed specifically for young children. The book is made of plush and measures 5.9*1.7*8.4 inches. The book has pink and green pompoms tied together with ropes. Only books with pompoms are included in this recall. According to the announcement, the recalled books were sold on www.barnesandnoble.com, www.homegoods.com, www.booksamillion.com and other online websites from January 2020 to April 2022. The original factory was China, and about 185,700 were sold in the United States and about 1,500 were sold in Canada. After inquiries, similar books were also sold on Amazon. Scholastic has received two reports of pompoms falling off, but no reports of injuries, the report said. The CPSC recommends that buyers immediately remove books from young children and cut off the pompoms on the books.
