The survey showed that 49% of respondents believed that buying groceries online saves time. However, the shopping experience was not rated highly, as 24% of respondents found the website or app difficult to use and payment cumbersome.

According to a survey by PayPal, 22% of American consumers will abandon their orders because they cannot find a suitable payment method. Currently, credit cards are still the preferred payment method for purchasing groceries. At the same time, digital payment methods such as PayPal and QR code payment are also increasing.

Thomas Lai, vice president of enterprise sales at PayPal, said grocery retailers must innovate in areas such as payments to make shopping convenient and secure for consumers.
