It is learned that according to foreign media reports, Shopify recently announced that the tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) content of marijuana or marijuana-derived products (namely delta-8, delta-9 and delta-10) sold on its platform must be less than 0.3%. If sellers fail to comply, the products will be deleted. Sellers have reportedly received emails from Shopify warning that their products contain more than 0.3% THC. Under Shopify's new policy, all cannabis or cannabis-derived products sold through its platform in the United States and Canada must have a THC content of less than 0.3% and may not make any medicinal claims unless approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). In addition, any product sold internationally through Shopify (except Canada), whether food or medicine, must not contain more than 0.2% THC.
