100,000 units sold! Domestic "hair styling magic tool" recalled by CPSC!

100,000 units sold! Domestic "hair styling magic tool" recalled by CPSC!

It is learned that according to foreign media reports, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced the recall of 100,000 BrushX multi-function hot air combs on February 17. The reason for the recall is that the product does not have a water immersion protection device, and if the plug comes into contact with water, it will cause electric shock.

The recalled products reportedly involve multiple models, including BrushX Styler, Dryer & Volumizer (also called BrushX One) and BrushX Gen.2. There are two colors: all black and black and pink. The CE mark on the handle of the comb has a "not waterproof" logo on the left. As shown in the following picture:

The recalled combs were all produced in China and imported by France's dba BrushX. These hot air brushes were sold on mybrushx.com from April 2020 to August 2021, with prices ranging from US$44 to US$55.

It is learned that CPSC has not received any reports of accidents involving the use of this product. However, CPSC recommends that buyers stop using this product immediately to avoid injury. The remedy for this product is that consumers need to cut off the power cord and send pictures of the destroyed product to BrushX's email address [email protected] to get a free replacement product.
