It is learned that on February 9, CPSC announced the recall of 200 Adam the Apple™ stackable toys for children. The reason for the recall is that the paint content on the surface of the wooden toys exceeds the lead content standard of the federal lead paint ban. Ingestion of lead by young children may cause adverse health effects. Adam the Apple's stackable toys for kids have 15 wooden blocks, each with a story written on it. When stacked, it stands about 6 inches tall and 6.5 inches wide, and looks like a smiling red apple with a leaf on it. The phrase Adam the Apple, Chris Bayonne and Patrick Carlson illustrations are written on the leaf. Here are the product images: It is learned that the toy was sold online at www.stackemupbooks.com from June 2021 to November 2021, and sold for about $25 at the Philadelphia Gift Show in July 2021. It is made in India and the recall number is 22-073. No injuries or accident injuries have been reported so far. CPSC advises consumers to immediately remove the toy from children and contact Stack Em' UpBooks to obtain a prepaid shipping label to return the product. Consumers who purchased the product can contact www.stackemupbooks.com or Philadelphia Gift Show and receive a full refund upon returning the product.
